Audi Warranty question

My local Audi independent specialist says I need a new water pump on my S3 (£999 fitted is their quote) . I have an Audi warranty but I have never claimed on it. I would prefer for them to fit it next week, Audi Oxford are terrible and I think they have no slots this side on the year (looking at website). Could I argue to get my independent specialist to do the work. Anyone any experience with that approach ?

I had a new water pump and a leaking thermostat housing replaced at an Audi dealer for £1200 on warranty. Yet, it's an outrageous way out of line of what it would cost handling the parts and the work properly.
Why do you not want to use your warranty?
