Cannot shift manually using paddles

I have just discovered I cannot shift manually using the paddles on my S3, the paddles feel the same, they do move on both sides. I can still shift manually up and down with the gear stick. Car has just been serviced with haldex and gear box oil changed, water pump and abs sensor changes. Any ideas , no errors on the dash.

Update, all the other steering wheel functions do not work either, except horn. Stalks work.
