hardwiring detector which fuse?

hi, I'm new, got a 2016 S3, bought a passport redline ex detector , trying to hardwire: can anyone tell me which fuse specifically to use safely on and a 2016 S3, also is it safe or should i just use the coil cord? thanks for each of your early response.

I recall some info on using the power from the Homelink or mirror for a detector. VWVortex has some posts on it.

firstly you need a multi-meter tool. you can then just check which fuse you need. the idea is to find one that is switched when you turn on/off your car. its usually an ignition powered fuse.

with this tool you can do other things as well in case your planing on doing other mods.
