Hey, I have an 8V and on my way back from work today my car behaved very differently.
Driving in normal Auto the gear changes were like I was in sports. 15MPH to go to 2nd gear 30MPH for 3rd gear. Spent majority of the drive manually going up gears to try smoothen the drive.
I literally got to local road when to turn a corner and as I reduced speed it for some reason dropped into 1st gear.
I currently have an issue with the engine coolant bypass valve and a mechanic told me I potentially have an issue with the thermostat.
Has anybody had a similar issue? If you have what steps did you take to find your solution.
